"The good we get from art is not what we learn from it; it is what we become through it We spend our days each one of us, looking for the secret of life, the secret of life is in art." Oscar Wilde
Shano exists primarily to promote Art as part of our everyday lives, believing that through the art forms of drama, music, dance, painting, filmmaking and poetry we can communicate on different levels with each other within the Kurdish community in the UK; in Kurdistan and around the world. This will enable us to build stronger bridges between our culture and many other cultures and communities. Karzan realized a long awaited dream when he set up the Shano Kurdish Arts Project in June 2001 in London where he still voluntarily choreographs directs and teaches dance, drama and filmmaking... Since 2001 Shano has constantly and actively worked in promoting various art projects, which include drama workshops, theatre projects, and dance, music, and filmmaking workshops. Shano has made excellent contact with various communities and collaborated with them on several occasions. For example Shanos Dance Group has participated in many International School Days, Community and Diversity Celebrations, and Festivals, including Notting Hill Carnival.
